In the heart of Toorak resides this stunning corner-block residence, offering uninterrupted views of Melbourne CBD. Recently transformed through a comprehensive redevelopment, the home breathes new life into one of Melbourne’s most prestigious suburbs.
The brief for this home centred on creating a seamless flow between each space across it’s 3 levels and 365m² size. CAS Commercial Windows and Doors were selected for this project which provide a durable, high-quality finish that complements the home’s modern aesthetic.
CAS Solutions
This residence features over five of our Titan Apartment Doors which benefit to enhance natural light, ventilation, and effortless access outside. Double-glazed glass ranging from 4–6 mm has been used to ensures superior thermal performance and acoustic comfort, contributing to a high energy rating that matches the incoming requirements for 7-star energy rated homes in Victoria. This not only helps regulate the homes temperature to stay comfortable all year-round and reduce energy consumption, but also supports environmental sustainability, lowers running costs, and adds long-term value to the property. This is particularly beneficial in the lounge room and kitchen when in the afternoon the sun beams inside and would otherwise make the room very hot.
To create the Awning Windows used in spaces including the bedrooms, study room, and bathroom, our 10044 Commercial Frame was used with a Commercial Flat Sash which creates a streamlined window appearance by closing flush with the frame, providing a clean finish.
Challenges
One of the challenges during the installation of the Titan Apartment Doors was using the correct roller to ensure it could sufficiently carry the weight of the large panels. Originally a 3-wheel roller was used, but due to weight of the doors the rollers were upgraded to our 5-wheel option. This allowed the panels to glide open and closed seamlessly.
Hardware & Feature Products
Our Evolution Handle in a D-pull variation has been used on the Titan Apartment Doors across the home. These handles are sleek and durable providing resistance to jemmying and restrain the door against being lifted externally from its rails. Our Commercial Zero Threshold Gutter Sill has also been paired with these apartment doors which is an excellent for creating seamless entries in and out of the door without any obstructions, making it perfect for projects that have disability requirement access standards, or you are looking to create a minimalistic look.
