Aluminium Powder Coating Maintenance

Maintaining powder-coated aluminium is essential to preserving its appearance and long-term performance. Regular cleaning removes dirt, grime, and environmental contaminants without compromising the integrity of the coating.

For routine maintenance, surfaces should be washed using warm water or approved, non-abrasive cleaning solutions. A soft cloth or fibre brush may be used to gently loosen built-up dirt.

Abrasive materials such as sandpaper or emery paper must never be used, as they can damage the powder-coated finish. Similarly, highly acidic or alkaline cleaners should be avoided, as they may degrade the protective surface.

For heavier deposits, carefully apply approved cleaning products to break down stubborn grime. Always complete the process by thoroughly rinsing all surfaces with clean water to remove any residue.

Grease or oil deposits can be removed using white spirits (methylated spirits) applied with a soft cloth.

Specialist chemical cleaners should only be used in consultation with professionals experienced in cleaning finished aluminium surfaces, as improper use may cause damage.
